Flight of the Conchords 1x01

Sorry guys about the long-term break, I had some technical issues with my notebook, but now I’m back. In this review, we check the Flight of the Conchords out.

This is the HBO’s new comedy series, which is about the life of a new zealandian parody duo („the fourth popular”), which consists of Bret and Clement. They attempt to break into the american music scene (exactly to New York) with the help of their manager, Murray and their only, obsessed fan, Mel, who is not an average girl. They have other interesting friends, which characters are very unneccesary. So, this is the main story, but truly, there is no storyline. It’s just a funny show about two guys and some of their friends, no hiding advertisements, no dramatic actions, no disgusting sex issues or other shit.

Other reviews say Flight of the Conchords is like popular movies, such as Zoolander or Napoleon Dynamite, but I think isn’t true. Zoolander has a nice story, but the Conchords is like a good stand-up comedy with some, lame story-idea. This is a very original production with a small sketch-show feeling but this is the main problem. Every episode is almost the same, just the jokes are changing. I don’t like this kind of shows and I’m sure that the audience will share my opininon. The humor of the series and the facial expressions of Bret and Clement are very good, but after some time, I couldn’t laugh anymore.
